ANTHROPO - SIN II

installation, video projection on loop, duration: 00:01:33, sound, dimensions variable, mixed media, 2015

No apes, no bus, no pearls.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I climbed up the hill on a Thursday afternoon.

Sweet, cyanobacteria free tears.

Whispers…

I am so sorry, for your loss…

Anthropo-Sin II, derived from a research about the Anthropocene geological epoch. A starting point of the research was the Venus Syndrome, a theory by the climate scientist James Hansen, where he argues that the fast evolving pace of climate change on Earth and the sensitivity of the climate to carbon dioxide will have as a result what Venus had undergone. The theory makes an assumption that planet Venus’ oceans may have boiled away in a runaway greenhouse effect. The installation is a dystopian depiction, based on the findings of the research. The short story that is narrated via a computer generated voice describes everyday actions happening in a post apocalyptic outdoor space.
